Hi, we are planning to reach las vegas and start to grand canyon in the morning. Is there any bus service available which can tour grand canyon and can back in the night to vegas? If yes is it possible to book tickets online before?

I have used this one for a couple of bus tours and they were very nice.

These guys have very good prices and they take reservations 24 hours a day. >You might ask what specials they have for the GC< They have coupons in the free LV magazines in your room or hotel gift shop, so if they don’t offer you a good rate over the phone you might want to wait.

If you’re interested in the "Skywalk" this is their phone # for info.

This is a once in a lifetime type of tour for most of us, but it sure is worth it.

My hubby is going for a work conference in vegas and lucky me is going also :-) – Venetian was sold out so we were put up at the Treasure Island?? I read everyones reports on it – we going down on Thanksgiving and I’m worried about weather also as while hubby in conference classes – I wanted to sit out by pool and sunbath – what do u think?? Also, planning on seeing shows and we took extra time so we can go and see the Grand Canyon but is south rim really the best?? I was told the north rim is closed anyway – also, hubby loves racecar – is the nascar or mario andretti really worth it for him to do?? does anyone know of any country music acts who might be there, as I didn’t see advertised on www.vegas.com
ANY Info. you all can offer would be great, as this is our first trip to Vegas and we hope to make it a special trip since our anniversary is the week before, so we WILL be celebrating the 10 days we are there.
THANKS FOLkS!!! :-)

If you are going around Thanksgiving, than the South Rim is your only option. The North Rim (which is at a higher elevation and gets more snow) is closed from mid-October until mid-May.

While I do prefer the North Rim during summer because it is cooler and less crowded, the South Rim is actually very nice fall through early spring. In late November, day time temps will definitely be cool (colder still at night), but not unpleasant if you have warm clothing (unless a rare early winter storm rolls in). Best of all, the summer crowds will be gone and the whole canyon is much more peaceful. If you don’t mind the drive (5 hours from Vegas), it is definitely worth visiting that time of year.

If you are planning on spending a night there, make sure you have reservations well in advance. All of the lodges inside the park are ran by Xanterra (see link below) and there are also a number of chain hotels just outside the gate at Tusayan.

Note that you may see some info and posting regarding the area known as ‘Grand Canyon West’ where the new SkyWalk glass bridge is located. This is a developed area on the Hualapai Indian Reservation just up-stream from Lake Mead. It is closer to Las Vegas (about a 3-4 hour drive), but part of the drive is along a rough dirt road. You can also take regular tour buses and plane flights there from Vegas.

However, you should be aware that Grand Canyon West, while still a very scenic spot, is NOT part of the Grand Canyon National Park (it is a 100 miles up river) and I would say the park has the wider, deeper and more dramatic parts of the canyon as well as all the famous buildings, trails and rock formations. Even if you drive yourself, it is a minimum of $80 per person to visit GC West and you don’t get to move around freely on your own as in the park, but rather can only visit a few small locations via a shuttle bus. While it is definitely a closer option if you are in Vegas, it is not the same experience as visiting the National Park.

Apologies in advance – I know this topic has been discussed over and over again, but I cannot find one, comprehensive answer to my questions. We are staying for two nights in Red Feather Lodge close to the South Canyon Entrance. We will have a car and I don’t mind driving, but think that helicopter/plane tour may be nice for my husband who has never seen the Canyon (I have been there few times). Also, would like to squeeze in Antelope Canyon in these two days. Have been looking at tour operators, but seems impossible to find a tour that visits both canyons and leaves from South Rim (versus Vegas). ANy ideas will be welcome – thanks. ?

Call a travel agent and have them do the leg work for you.

My wife and I want to order helicopter tour to Grand Canyon. Could please anybody advice the best company for this?
Thanks.

I recommend Look Tours

It was the highlight of my Vegas trip.

We landed on a plateau overlooking the Grand Canyon and had a small lunch. The view was fantastic.

Can you please recommend a bus tour package from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon (South Rim). The bus should be comfortable + friendly crew. Can you also give more details about the tour itself (length, cost, url) that would be very helpful.

Try Angel’s Gate Tours. We did a tour with them, and they were awesome!!! Small groups, we had about 10 people in the van. The guide knew everything about the canyon. He also used a telescope to show us things that we never would have seen on our own. They picked us up at Amerisuites in Flagstaff, and everything was included (entry fees, lunch, etc.) It was about $80 per person, and was worth every penny. Their number is 800-957-4557.
