I am taking a vacation to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. I am looking for some good places to visit and explore

Drive up Oak Creek Canyon, Go on a jeep tour of the red rocks throughout Sedona. Outside of Sedona is Slide Rock State Park, you can drive down to Montezuma’s Castle/Well, Prescott is fun with Whiskey Row, Take the Grand Canyon Railroad up to the Grand Canyon, you can hike down, there are lots of different lookouts up there. It depends a lot of what you are looking for.

Labor Day at the south rim of Grand Canyon was a good time to find some animal activity. Big horn sheep, a rare find, were enjoying the people at Grand Canyon Village.

Should I rent a car and drive myself or are there bus trips. Please share your experience. Thanks

G’day Gizmo 1954,

Thanks for your question.

The Grand Canyon is about 250 miles from Las Vegas. You should take highway 93 south from Las Vegas to Interstate 40 east to highway 64. The trip takes about 4 1/2 hours and takes you right over Hoover Dam.

There are plenty of bus trips available. However, if you want to travel at your own pace, I would drive yourself and see what you want to see when you want to see it.

Regards
