serious advices appreciated for my Vegas Wedding?
im getting married this August in Vegas. I’ve yet to book our tickets and all. But this is what i got on mind.
Little Church of the West for the Wedding Ceremony. or A Red Rock Wedding considering it’s gonna be summertime?
I’m still confused as to where to have a small party of 10 or less. Is eating on the buffets, ok?
where to book the hotel either in Sahara or Stratosphere? but Sahara got good deals. and maybe we can eat in Sahara buffet after the wedding.LOL.
who to trust for my bridal make-up?
other than free sites to see in Vegas, what are other must see for us who haven’t been in Vegas for a small fortune? the bus tours are cheaper? one friend wants to check the Grand Canyon but i know it can be expensive…
Help. ASAP. thank you.

A good place to have your reception with your party of 10 will be the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur. It’s a dinner and show and they cater to small groups.
As far as staying at the Sahara, every major hotel on the strip are offering major discounts because of the recession. The key is to book using hotel Promo Codes. Here are a few: http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.html
Grand Canyon tours are not that expensive. It all depends on the package you are interested in. Just compare prices here are a few: http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/things-to-do.html
Tip: Remember to get your license before your wedding day.
Congratulations
I’d say if you’re planning on staying on the Strip you’d want to have your wedding on the Strip as well. Red Rock is a ways out while LC of the W is on the Strip.
As far as eating at a buffet after your wedding – yup it happens all the time! Every time I go to a buffet on a Friday or Saturday it seems there is at least one wedding party there.
Stratosphere vs. Sahara – well I’ve never been in Sahara but Stratosphere wasn’t very nice. You may want to check out the Flamingo. They have beautiful rooms and they’re more in the middle of the action as far as the Strip goes.
If you haven’t been here the best things to do are walk around the Strip and see the hotels and some of the free things they offer. Some of my favorites are the Venetian (gondolas and living statues), the Bellagio (fountains and gardens). Also pick up a What’s On Booklet or search online for What’s On Vegas. It lists all kinds of things to do. Usually Grand Canyon tours will run you at least $100 per person and they are all day things. The GC is a 5 – 6 hour drive out of Vegas.
Sounds like fun. I would like a little church because you never know if its going to be too hot especially in Vegas. I have a travel website and it offers some pretty good vegas prices you can check it out at http://www.jsgetaway.com. Also there are many salons around in Vegas a lot of hotels. Just call ahead about the makeup. You can even try the website for the grand canyon tours.
Good Luck
Book now! Prices are just going to go up!
I got married in Vegas in August 2006. I wouldn’t trade that day for the world. We got married at the Flamingo gazebo chapel. It was beautiful. I would suggest if you want an outside wedding in Vegas to do it in the evening. We got married at 6pm, it was still about 92 degrees, but the sun wasn’t as scorching.
We had a dinner for 35 people at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, we had an open margarita bar for 2 hours, it was wonderful and not too pricey. I would research some resturants around the area of your wedding and do a dinner for 10, it might be cheaper and more intimate than the buffet, but if you want the buffet, go for it, it’s your day!
As for bridal makeup/hair, most casinos have a salon, but they can get very pricey, very fast. Once you pick your hotel, research the salons in the area.
Good luck, and get a move on reserving stuff now!
Sounds like you’re on a budget. Here’s my suggestions.
Yes, it’s gonna be hot. My daughter got married last year in July outside and it was hot but she wanted an outdoor wedding. Outdoor weddings are really nice. If you are a Christian, I know of a pastor who will come to whereever you want your wedding to be and is quite reasonable in price. http://spiritofprophecy.org You can have a Red Rock Canyon wedding, Mt Charleston, or even at the pastor’s house who has a beautiful garden. Or if you aren’t Christian, there are other wedding officiants in town who will come to you. You don’t have to have a typical wedding chapel wedding. Our daughter got married at Lakeside Gardens at Desert Shore. Look at this website. http://alwaysandforeverweddings.com
I would never suggest a buffet for your wedding reception. It’s kinda tacky. Most restaurants will be happy to accomadate your small party for a nice sit down dinner. My daughter’s rehearsal dinner was at Ricardo’s.. It was reasonably priced and they did a bang up job.
As for your hair and make up. You can find a place close to your hotel, or go to where the locals go, for a better price, but if you want the bridal royal treatment, check out Joleon Salon and Spa. It’s next door to Sunset Gardens Wedding Chapel. They specialize in bridal parties.
One other idea that my husband and I did and we really loved it is this. We rented a party limo. Then we filled it up with our family and friends and went to the drive thru wedding chapel. We stocked the limo with booze and then cruised the Strip for 2 hours with our party and then landed at a steakhouse for our wedding dinner. The restaurant even made a wedding cake for us!!!
Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!
