Are there Canyons that are bigger than the Grand Canyon?

I read a book my Louis Lamore (sp?) that said there is a canyon in Idaho bigger than the Grand Canyon.

And I read “Desert Solitaire” (favorite book) stating there are 1 or 2 canyons near Moab, UT that are bigger than the Grand.

So I want to know if this is true & where the canyons are and what their names are.

Tusayan Shuttle Bus to Resume Service May 12, 2012

The National Park Service (NPS) will be offering free shuttle service between Tusayan, AZ, the small town that hosts a number of hotels and the Grand Canyon National Airport, and the South Rim starting May 12.

The Park service runs a nice fleet of environmentally buses. Here’s a look at the inside of one of these efficient coaches…

The Tusayan, AZ route will run through Sept. 7, 2012. It will run in 15-minute intervals from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily. Click here for more information about routes.

North Rim to Open May 15, 2012

On Tuesday, May 15, the National Park Service announced that Highway 67 will re-open, signifying the start of the 2012 summer season on the North Rim.

The North Rim, which is situated at the southern end of the Kaibab Plateau, sits at an elevation of 8,500 feet (about 1,000 feet higher than the South Rim). Only open during summer, the rim is home to such incredible sites like Cape Royal, Point Sublime and Point Imperial, among others.

El Tovar’s architecture has been described as a mish-mash of Swiss Chalet and Norway Villa. Whatever it’s categorization, it’s been the subject of tons of photos.
