Time Traveler
The most important thing you need to know about South Rim bus tours is that they require a full day. Expect to be back at your Strip hotel at 8:30 p.m. I strongly suggest against making early evening dining or entertainment reservations.
The drive over is 260 miles and takes 5.5 hours. The route follows Lake Mead before bearing south across the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge. Most tours will pull over for a Hoover Dam photo stop before bearing east across the Mojave Desert and the Kaibab Plateau.

Grand Canyon National Park
Typical time in the Park is upwards of three hours, which is plenty of time. In most cases, you’ll visit the most popular lookouts like Mather Point, Yaki Point and Yavapai Observation Station. There are also ample opportunities to explore Grand Canyon Village and to even take a stroll below the rim via Bright Angel Trail.
