I live in KS, but I am planning a surprise trip for my mom’s birthday to Arizona, the day before we leave I was hoping to visit the Grand canyon, does anybody know if it cost to just drive up and stand on the edge? We aren’t interested in any tours or anything like that, we just drive up and walk up like my mom used to do in the 70s. Is that possible anymore? or? Thank you!
My family & I are going to the Grand Canyon this summer during peak season. We will be driving from Las Vegas and staying for the night. Coming from Las Vegas, they both seem to be about 275 miles. Are they as easy to get to, both taking 4-5 hours, or is the ride to the North Rim more difficult of a drive? I would prefer to avoid the crowds of the South Rim and the North Rim sounds more appealing to me, but the rest of my family isn’t sure. I would love advice from people who has been to both!
If you answer, tell me why! I especially want answers about the drive from Las Vegas.
