Helicopter Tours Archives

Am leaving this Saturday from WV to vacation for a week in Sedona. I know the Red Rocks are there, and that we’ll be 2 hours from the South Rim and want to see that. What else is there I should see during this week? Is it cool to visit an Indian reservation and what can u do there? Am not a huge fan of museums. Will also want to take the helicopter thru the Grand Canyon and SHOP! Thanks a lot, locals!

Looking for recommendations about Skywalk tours. Is it true you can’t bring your camera? Is it better to buy tickets there or in advance? I also read you can fly a helicopter to the bottom here?

Hi, I have heard that you can take a horse dow to the floor of the cannyon, is this correct as I can only find helicopter rides. Also, how would I go about doing this and booking online? thanks

What all did you do if you went? I went there for my honeymoon, before the Skywalk was built.

We mostly hiked down the canyon. The Colorado River is beautiful there. Never got a chance to ride the burros or the helicopter though.

My girlfriend is finishing her bachelors in December and I have reserved flights to Las Vegas for us just after, but my main goal is to do something good with the Grand Canyon as it’s only 4 or so hours away. I prefer to drive there (no helicopter tours from LV ) and my time frame of actually being able to be there is about 12 noon until 4 PM the next day…. has anyone had any good experiences they would recommend or vice versa.

This will be in January so I know night will be cold but as far as any other details, we are both 23 and the cost isn’t that big of an issue.
To KAP and anyone else, to clarify I mean an overnight so 4 PM the day after, I’ve looked at the Kaibab and Bright Angel Trails, and pretty much want as many opinions as I can get because obviously they all say the are the best. Thanks for everyone’s help

I will be going to Las Vegas at the end of April and am so confused about all the tours to the grand cayon. I’d love one of the tours to be via plane/helicopter so I can see the Hoover Dam and canyon from above, but not sure which part is best to go. There are a bunch of tours to the West Rim, but is it worth it just to go on the Skywalk? I can always drive to the west rim since it’s the closest to Vegas, but unsure about whether to go to South Rim or North Rim. I only have time for one. Wouldn’t want to drive to South/North Rim b/c it’s much farther and don’t want to be caught driving at night on those unmarked paved roads. Please help!

Hi, I know there’s already been a ton of questions asked about this, but I’ve looked through them all and I’m still a little confused by the whole thing, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m going to Las Vegas from 29 Apr-2 May and would like to spend a day touring the Grand Canyon. From reading around, I know I’d like the tour to have the following things:

1. Departs from Vegas, or transfer from Vegas hotel
2. Helicopter
3. Goes to the South Rim, NOT the West Rim
4. Lands on the floor of the Canyon

Also, ideally I don’t want to spend more than $300, which may or not be asking too much. I’ve managed to find several tours below this price but the problem is that tour companies do not specify whether they go to the West or South Rim. I can’t call a company to ask as I live in the UK and it would be too costly to telephone. I’m a student and traveling on a tight budget, so if anyone could offer any advice I really would be grateful.

Thank you for your help, in advance!

A limo is leaving at 12:15pm. The tour will take about 3-1/2hr.
The limo will take us to a helicopter pad. We will have lunch overlooking the Grand Canyon.
That’s cool, SuperStar, time is relatively virtual here. Jump on board whenever you can! LOL!
Money is no object here! It is taken care of. But, last night you had plenty of cash. Sounds like you should have been locked in your room!
