If coming from Vegas, which would be the better to see – the south rim or north rim or even the west rim (I’m sure there’s an east too) – I’m not familiar with out there.

I am planning to take a Grand Canyon tour. What is the difference between South Rim amd West Rim ? The West Rim takes a shorter trip time so I prefer to take that one. But which one is better ?? Thanks in advance.

My family & I are going to the Grand Canyon this summer during peak season. We will be driving from Las Vegas and staying for the night. Coming from Las Vegas, they both seem to be about 275 miles. Are they as easy to get to, both taking 4-5 hours, or is the ride to the North Rim more difficult of a drive? I would prefer to avoid the crowds of the South Rim and the North Rim sounds more appealing to me, but the rest of my family isn’t sure. I would love advice from people who has been to both!
If you answer, tell me why! I especially want answers about the drive from Las Vegas.

And I’m thinking about going thru California which my friend also hasn’t been to. On the other hand, neither of us has been to Vegas. But neither of us gamble, or drink much, and we’re not into hiring prostitutes or whatever so should we even consider Vegas?
We’re in Eastern WA state.

I’m driving from Utah to hike Havasupai in a few weeks. I’d like to stop and see either the North or South Rim. I’ve read all about the pros and cons of each. I’d like to know from those who have been which is better and why. Thanks!
